Once upon a time, there was a slang that went like, "Are you having a good time?" or "How's it going?" .

It was a time no matter what we were doing, we'd ask each other, "Having fun?(ノッテル？)" and reply, ""Yeah, having a blast!(ノッテル！)".

It was a time when we used phrases like "riding the waves(ノッテル)," saying things like, "I'm catching the waves right now, so don't bother me!".

It was a time everyone loved to "catch the waves" (enjoy themselves).

It was a time in which I was born.

"Is everyone having a good time? Are you surfing? ノッテル?"
昔さ、こんなスラングが流行ってたんだ。
「楽しんでる？」「調子どう？」みたいな感じでさ。

何をしていても、お互いに
「ノッてる？」って聞いて、
「ノリノリだよ！」って返す、そんな時代だった。

「波に乗ってる」なんて言い方もよくしてて、
「今波に乗ってるから、邪魔しないでくれよ！」
なんてことも言ってた。

みんなが“波に乗る”こと、つまり思いきり楽しむことが大好きだった時代。

そんな時代に、俺は生まれた。

「みんな楽しんでる？波に乗ってる？……ノッてる？アーユーサフィン？？」

About the Sunglasses and "Are You Surfing?" 
The design inspiration came from party glasses. I picked the ones that looked the least flattering on me—lol! As for why they’re droopy-eyed, I never really thought about it, but maybe it’s because my uncle had super cute droopy eyes that left an impression. 

The phrase "Are You Surfing?" comes from the ‘80s and ‘90s vibe around me, where we’d ask, “How’s it hangin’?” or say, “You ridin’ the wave?” to check in with friends who were on a roll. Back then, riding the wave meant surfing, so I crafted the phrase "Are You Surfing?" and worked it into the design.  

Our goal is to sprinkle a bit of humor and just the right amount of wit into everyday life with these products. We hope they help you ride the wave in style!

デザインの着想は、いわゆるパーティー用のおもしろメガネ。
その中でも「一番自分に似合わなそうなやつ」をあえて選びました（笑）。

なぜタレ目なのか？
正直、深く考えたわけじゃないけど、
たぶん昔、やたら可愛いタレ目の叔父がいて、それがどこか印象に残っていたのかもしれません。

「Are You Surfing?」というフレーズは、
自分のまわりにあった80年代〜90年代の空気感から来ています。

あの頃は、
「調子どう？」とか
「波、乗ってる？」なんて言いながら、
ノッてる仲間に声をかける文化がありました。

当時、“波に乗る”といえばサーフィン。
そこから「Are You Surfing?」という言葉を組み立て、デザインに落とし込みました。

このプロダクトを通して、
日常にちょっとしたユーモアと、少しだけ気の利いたウィットを添えられたらと思っています。
